WOW! I just got back from the range today (Usually go on Fridays) and I have one less gun now!
The KAHR CW-45 blew up!( pictures below)
So now, I am even more eager to get my RIA 1911. I know in my previose posts I wanted the Taurus, however after much reasearch, I have realized that RIA (Rock Island Armory) 1911 is better and also a little easier on the wallet. I've been shooting so much of the KAHR every week that my hand is getting a callus.
I got to hold an RIA at the local pawn shop, and it felt like silk! I can't wait to get it. I'm trying to wait till after the gun show next weekend so that I can see what they have.
Have a bangtastic day. Mama A

What kind of ammo were you using? Handloads?
ReplyDeleteI'd go with a Springfield Armory 1911 before an RIA. Forged frame & slide. IMO a better piece of ordnance. :-)
ReplyDeleteYea, handloads, the guess is that we didn't put powder in one, it fired, and then instead of checking the barrel we just cleared the brass and fired some more. We should have checked after each misfire but when it happens 1 or 2 rounds of every 5 its bad. That also happened with FMJ Manufactured too.
ReplyDeleteI would love a Springfield, if I could afford the extra money. Of course I could wait a few months and then I could, but I'm not a very patient person. :)
